Our 2 Astrolabes, dated from the early 1600's were discovered near Channel-Port aux Basques. They are both in mint condition and in working order. A very rare and valuable find for Newfoundland and all of Canada.

The Town of Channel – Port aux Basques wishes to advise that a Boil Water Advisory is in effect for all of Water Street West, Baird Street, Knox Avenue, East Avenue and Forsey’s Lane. All residents are advised to boil their drinking water until further notice. This is due to fire hydrant repairs in the area.

Council advises this is a precautionary Boil Order and apologizes for any inconvenience.

Specifications may be obtained at the Town Office.

Proposals shall be submitted to the Town Office prior to 12:00 noon, Monday, May 30th, 2016. Proposals shall be addressed to:
