Seeking Superintendent Public Works

The Town of Channel-Port aux Basques is seeking a qualified individual to fill the position of Superintendent of Public Works. As part of the Town’s management team, under the general direction of the Town
Manager, the Superintendent of Public Works supervises all Public Works employees and manages the day-to-day operations and maintenance of municipal infrastructure, such as water, sanitary sewer, storm sewer and storm water drainage, roads, snow clearing /
snow removal, buildings and other Town properties.

Qualifications

  • Completion of Civil Engineering Technology or related discipline is required. Additional educational certificates, courses or training in areas of construction, public utilities, or employee relations would be an asset
  • 5 or more years of experience in a municipal or construction environment, including 3 – 5 years of supervisory experience. A combination of education and experience may be considered
  • A valid Class 5 License, also, Class 3 and/or Class 8 licenses would be an asset
  • Knowledge in the operation and maintenance of municipal infrastructure, heavy equipment, trucks, and additional equipment utilized in a public works operation is required.

Salary: Starting at $66,500.00
